Lawrence joins the Activ Therapy team with in-depth experience of sporting injuries and special interests in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting.

Having worked closely with 4 CrossFit boxes and multiple gyms, Lawrence has a wide understanding of the physical demands, performance needs and injury recovery characteristics that are unique to the CrossFit athlete. Being a keen participant as well (his love-hate relationship began back in 2010), he understands the athletic demands that are placed on these athletes and can resonate with the physical and mental struggles of being injured.

He also has experience in treating clients with work-related injuries, having worked previously at a dedicated Workers Compensation Medical Centre and servicing injured workers at Costco Casula. He has a detailed knowledge of the Return-to-Work process and the challenges in ensuring all parties are working together in the recovery of the injured worker.

Lawrence's approach to physiotherapy is hands-on, individualised and collaborative with the client - it's always 1-on-1 and requires therapist and client to work together to achieve a successful outcome. Using manual therapy techniques to address dysfunction and pain, in conjunction with working with you to develop an individualised home exercise program, he has had great success in getting people back to sport and/or work quickly. 

His true focus as a physiotherapist is to find out the reason you developed your problem and the underlying issues that might make it come back.  "Fixing" these is the true goal for everyone one of his patients.

Lawrence is always looking to develop his knowledge and learn from a wide range of sources to find the best techniques to treat you.  Some of his additional training, experience and registrations include:

• Certificate of Spinal Manual Therapy (CSMT)

• SFMA Level 1 Accredited (Selective Functional Movement Assessment)

• Advanced Dry Needling for the Upper Limb/Neck/Jaw and Lower Limb

• Evidence-Based Evaluation and Treatment for the Shoulder

• NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) Level 1

• Precision Nutrition Level 1 in Exercise Nutrition

• Sports Level 1

• Physiotherapist at Tenpin Bowling Australia Seniors Cup, National Athletics Championships
